Reaction to New People: Abilene is a little shy to begin with. Warms up fast. She loves to be around her people. She loves the attention that you give her and rewards you with kisses. Very sweet personality.
Kid Friendly: Yes
Training: List commands your foster knows: Sit and Shake so far we have found. Knows kennel up, but isn't really a fan but will go in for treats.
Grooming Needs: Abilene has a standard husky coat which will require frequent brushing.
Fence: Abilene does fine on a tie out. She also does well in our dog area that is 6 feet fenced in. She will jump baby gates.
Solo or Siblings: We feel she would be great as an only Dog in a house. She has had a lot of responsibility the last month as being a mom, so she needs to learn that she can just be a dog again. She shows she wants to play with her foster sisters but is unsure about it. Once she has settled in I am sure the puppy will come out in her.
From the Foster: Abilene is a very sweet and loving girl who loves her people. She rewards you with kisses when you give her belly rubs and pats. She recently came with her puppies from a shelter in Texas so she is starting to settle in and realizing that she can be a dog again. She is very food motivated so training has been easier. She loves walks with her 3 foster sisters and does well with a little pulling. She is very smart and learns quickly. She is a very quiet girl. Fireworks from across the lake did not seem to bother her, but she seems to get nervous during thunderstorms. She seemed calm when she was next to us. Abilene is a very sweet girl who needs someone who can show her a lot of love and attention.
