About Chico

Sex: Male

Color: Cream

Eye Color: Bi Eyes - one blue one hazel/greenish brown

Birthday: 11/01/2017

Approximate Weight: 43 lbs

Good With Dogs: Yes

Good With Cats: Not known but probably not. Pretty playful and barky when playing at times so we do not recommend a cat home for him.

Crate Trained: Not great for wire crate, can do airline for a few hours if needed.

Housebroken: Yes, but no clear signal for going outside. We are here a lot so we let him out a lot.

Energy Level: Medium to high. Likes to be by his people at all times. So if someone's sitting watching TV at night he will nap near you.

Good With Kids: We find he kind of mouth plays but doesn't bite. We've been training and correcting on that. Because of this he should go to a home with kids 10 and up only.

Training: In addition to the mouthing / nibbling training, we have been working on stay and wait and some on walking on a leash. He was a stray, and he eats like a stray still and drinks water like a stray. So we've used wait and stay while giving him his food to keep him back but he still eats it crazy fast. We have been using a bowl that slows him down a little.

Comments: Chico loves being by his people! He loves cuddling but gets a little anxious when people leave. With other dogs around his separation anxiety hasn't been bad so he would love a forever home with other dogs to hang out with while the humans are away. He usually just goes to be with the next person that's home if there's someone home. He is a sweet cuddly boy very loving! We feel he would best in a home where he doesn't need to be crated for too long during a day. He does great being out of his crate in his foster home. He's a good climber but hasn't tried to jump a fence in his foster home. We have a 4 foot and he was previously at a 3-foot fence and never tried to jump that. But with huskies you never know!!
