Grooming Needs: Rosie has a standard husky coat which will require frequent thorough brushing. You should aim for at least once a week, and more when she is blowing her coat, typically twice a year. She's a champ for Nail trims.

Fence: Rosie is a flight risk due to her past, therefore a fence will be required for her.

Solo or Siblings: Rosie would prefer a dog-friend to sit with by the fire.

From the Foster: Rosie Posey is a sweet as the day is long and is looking for a retirement home to spend her golden years. She is likely closer to 10-11 years of age. She came into rescue from a hoarding situation so she was one of many dogs and they lacked human socialization. Rosie has quickly adapted to indoor life, and loves to lounge on fluffy beds and warm her toes by the fire. She likes the comfort of having another pup in the house, and will lay near them but isn't up for rough housing and play. She would much rather just soak in the scenery. Rosie walks like a dream on leash and loves a leisurely stroll through the neighborhood or nearby trails. She also prefers carpet to hardwoods as her feet can be slippery on slick surfaces. If you don't have carpet, she will play "the floor is lava game and hustle from rug to rug to feel stable. Due to her former situation she is still a bit unsure of strangers. She will accept pets and give you a little hand lick in return, but asks that you go slowly with her while she gains trust in you. She's smart as a whip and can pick up your routine in a matter of days. She's also stubborn as an ox, so don't give into her when she pretends not to understand what you want~ if you give her an inch she will take a mile! If you are willing to work to create stability, a loving environment, and structure, Rosie will blossom for you. If you are looking for a low key companion to watch TV with, read stories to (she's a great listener), and explore the the trails with, Rosie might just be your gal.
