Comments: Fremont came into rescue after living outdoors all his life. Being inside is still scary and new so naturally, he wants to spend as much time outdoors as possible. He absolutely loves the cold and snow but will also raise his face to the sunshine and warmth.

He had never walked on a leash or climbed up a flight of stairs before coming into rescue and he has learned fast! He has become his foster moms best walker out of the pack and likes to see the new world even if it is a little scary. We still avoid busy roads and commotion but are getting used to the surroundings of leashed activity.

The inside world is still a bit nerve-racking and Fremont (Monty for short) is still getting used to his surroundings and environment. Everyday is better and better! He likes toys and anything fluffy and likes to steel 'feet cleaning towels' and take them outside to play with them. He also likes to steel and eat shoes, so putting those up have been a good lesson learned.

Fremont does love to play with his new brothers and is wonderful with big and little dogs. They are outside running, jumping and wrestling with each other. It is a requirement that he goes to a home with another dog in the house since he does best with a dog showing him the ropes. A fenced in yard is also best to keep him safe as he will always be a flight risk.

He is not afraid to be touched or pet, so long as you don't startle him, and likes to have his ears and belly rubbed and a good soft brushing. He takes treats very gentle and loves cheese. We do feed him with the other dogs and there is no food aggression. He does very well in his kennel during the day when left alone as well as bedtime.
