How is (s)he with large dogs: Harley gets along well with larger dogs. The only time I have had an issue is with female dogs on her turf or their turf. The dog park there has been no issues.
How is (s)he with small dogs: Harley loves small dogs. They are her favorite to play with. She does sometimes forget that they are smaller and needs to be reminded to play nice.
How is (s)he with cats: Harley is great with adult cats. She loves to play with our current cat and they wrestle all the time. As with little dogs she forgets the cats are little and gets a little rough. I just remind her to play nice.
Is (s)he kid friendly: Harley is great with children. She is extremely gentle with everyone but especially children. She loves when they take the time to give her lots of love.
What training has (s)he had: Harley knows sit, lay, stay (not the best), come (when she wants). When in the car she knows back, which tells her to go to the back seat. Wait, is for when walking down stairs she walks behind you so she doesn't shoot down the stairs knocking everything from your arms. Drop, she knows drop but it's not the typical drop she drops it in the vicinity of you.
Crate trained: No
Potty trained: Yes
Reason for needing to rehome: Harley is crate trained but is terrified of her kennel. I rescued her 3 years ago from an abusive home. They got her from a family that was abusive as well. Harley had never been alone in her life and they put her in a kennel. It terrified her and now she hates kennels. I have tried to crate train her and make the kennel be her home but nothing has worked. I have gone through 9 kennels since I got her three years ago. I rent and cannot leave her out of the kennel, because she destroys the carpet by the door. Harley needs to be with someone who owns their home and has a fenced in backyard. Also somewhere she does't need to be kenneled or she can go to doggy day care while they are at work. Harley is a wonderful, sweet, and loving girl. She likes everyone she meets.
If you are interested in Harley please contact her family directly, AAHMN cannot answer questions regarding this dog. Please do not use the application on our website to apply for her, thanks!
