Cat Friendly: Yes. Bonnie currently lives with two cats! She doesn't show much interest in the cats with the exception of periodic sniffing.

Crate Trained: Yes - she loves her crate!

Housebroken: Yes

Energy Level: Medium

Reaction to New People: We do not know Bonnie's exact backstory. She was dumped (along with Clyde) at a local shelter. She is timid with people. Her foster parents are working with her on this and are seeing improvement but Bonnie will require a lot of patience and work to continue to build her confidence with people.

Kid Friendly: Unknown, however, based on how timid she is and her reaction to new people and situations, recommend only older children that would respect Bonnie's boundaries.

Training: Bonnie came to her foster parents with no training and extremely fearful of people. She knows her name and to go into her kennel when told. She is currently working with a trainer who specializes in fearful dogs. Bonnie is also kennel, leash, and potty trained!

Grooming Needs: Bonnie has a standard husky coat and would benefit from frequent thorough brushing. However, given her timid/fearful nature, her foster parents have limited brushing to an as-needed basis.

Fence: Her foster family has a fence; Bonnie is a flight risk, therefore a fenced yard is a must.

Solo or Siblings: Bonnie and Clyde are a bonded pair. They will need to be adopted together. They would benefit from having other confident dogs in the home to learn from.

From the Foster: Bonnie is a very sweet girl without an aggressive bone in her body. We do not know Bonnie's history. She was dropped off at a local shelter along with her foster brother, Clyde. They are partners in crime, and very much a bonded pair.

Bonnie is timid around humans, but has made a ton of progress. She has discovered a love for being pet and especially loves having her ears and chest rubbed. Bonnie likes toys, and is a bit of a toy hoarder - piling them all up and laying on them to keep them to herself. Bonnie loves going for walks and is incredibly goofy. She bounces like a bunny and runs back and forth almost the whole time.

Bonnie is a little lady, a lady who loves her treats. Bonnie loves ALL treats, however, she had to have all her teeth removed due to serious dental disease (due to lack of care in her previous life) so she can only have soft treats and soft food. Her foster parents soak her kibble before each meal.

Like her foster brother, Bonnie is out and about all day (her foster parents work from home) and does not get herself into trouble. She is very quiet. Her foster parents have only heard her 'speak' once or twice. Like Clyde, Bonnie is not keen on spending time outside by herself. Her foster parents think that may be a result of her learning the joys of being indoors and not wanting to be left outside.

Bonnie and her brother Clyde will need a patient forever home that understands they will need a lot of time to adjust to their new home. They are both very sweet dogs who will provide endless love to the people they choose to open up to someday.

Adoption Fee: $250 ***Bonnie is participating in our Home For The Holidays campaign. If her adoption is finalized by January 10th, 2021 her adoption fee will be $150***

All dogs coming into Adopt a Husky Minnesota receive care tailored to their needs, including: Nose-to-tail exam with a partner veterinarian, Vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella), 4DX test to check for heartworm or tick exposure, Fecal Analysis, Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative, Spay/Neuter prior to adoption, Microchip, and are evaluated for temperament and trainability.
