Kid Friendly: Yes, he loves his 2 year human foster brother.

Training: Basic commands, does well walking on a leash but is still nervous when he is leaving the comfort of home and his foster family's yard.

Grooming Needs: Fender has a standard husky coat which will require frequent thorough brushing. You should aim for at least once a week, and more when he is blowing his coat, typically twice a year.

Fence: Because he was hit by a car and sometimes has moments of confusion, Fender will need a fenced yard to keep him safe.

Solo or Siblings: Fender depends on his foster siblings to feel comfortable, he is very submissive so he does best with confident dogs to follow.

From the Foster: Although Fender was hit by a car he is still your sweet typical husky. He loves to play and rough house with his foster siblings! He loves to run like a typical husky and you would never know that by the way he runs that he had a broken leg.

Recently his foster family has noticed that he favors his left eye when looking at things, and upon examination, we believe that he has a field cut in his vision on his right (brown) eye; likely caused by the car accident and head trauma. This does not slow him down and the only thing you notice is that he runs into and steps on things more than a 'normal' dog.

He has learned to love his crate, and chooses to take naps in there, and will "kennel up" on command. He does get a little anxious when crated alone (no other dogs nearby) however continues to grow more and more relaxed in his safe space!

Due to Fender's shy temperament, and head trauma it is a requirement that he go to a home with other dogs to help guide him and a fully fenced in yard because he is a flight risk. We want Fender to live life in his best possible home, therefore these are non-negotiables for him.
