Reaction to New People: Nyssa is very shy when meeting new people. If approached slowly and respectfully she often will give a curious sniff.

Kid Friendly: She will need a home with kids above the age of 10 who can respect her space.

Training: Nyssa will kennel on command and come when asked. She knows her name very well along with other basics like sit, down and even likes to spin!

Grooming Needs: Standard husky coat that will require regular brushing weekly.

Fence: Requires a home with a fenced in yard to keep her safe and happy.

Solo or Siblings: Nyssa would do best in a home with another dog to continue to show her how to live life to the fullest.

Medical: After an abnormal EKG was noted during her spay procedure, Nyssa was diagnosed by a board certified cardiologist 7/31/2020 with right bundle branch block. They were unable to determine if this is a birth defect or caused by trauma later in life. On 1/10/2022 she saw the cardiologist again and the condition is stable. He recommends Nyssa be allowed to do activities at her own pace and not forced into running or extensive exercise, and felt she will likely be unaffected in her life from this condition and should live a full normal life. This information that should be passed on to any veterinarians she may see in the future, especially if she ever has to be anesthetized and should be monitored for changes in her future.

From the Foster: Nyssa (Nee-sa) is a super sweet girl who is looking for her chance at a forever home. Her name means new beginnings and that is just what she needs. Nyssa spent the majority of her life with minimal socialization, and is learning in her foster home that people and the outside world aren't too bad after all! She is amazing in the kennel, you won't hear a peep from her unless she hears you scooping her food and then she'll give you a little howl. When she's excited she does the most amazing zoomie circles you have ever seen! Since having her first chance at toys she's learned to love a good stuffed squeaky toy!

Nyssa does great with other dogs of all sizes. She loves hanging out with her 2 energetic foster fursiblings. Nyssa would do best in a home with people and dogs that respect her space and can give her the time and love she needs to continue to learn. A consistent schedule and routine will also be helpful in making her feel the most comfortable.
