About Khione - 0362

Color: White

Eye Color: One blue and one parti eye

Birthday: est. 7/5/2021

Weight: 55 lbs

Small/Large dog friendly: Unkown, suspected to be selective due to some conflictions between foster homes, I am recommending single dog household.

Cat Friendly: No

Crate Trained: Yes

Housebroken: Yes

Energy Level: Very chill, especially for an adolescent. She has a few zooms in the morning, bounces around for a few minutes, then is pretty chill the rest of the day. She would do well with mental enrichment, some short play sessions outside, and hanging out be her primary form of lifestyle.

Reaction to New People: Shy

Kid friendly: Unknown, but recommend no kids in the house.

Training: More need in confidence building and relationship building. Basics training, she knows 'sit', 'down', 'touch', 'find it'. She is kennel trained.

Grooming Needs: Normal husky coat which will require regular thorough brushing. You should aim for once a week or so, and more when she is blowing her coat, typically twice a year

Fence: Needs a fence, or a leash at all times. She is leashed at all times when going out. Keep leashed at this point in time while.outside (long line, leash, tie out, always supervised).

Solo or Siblings: Solo

From the Foster: Khione (or KiKi as we lovingly have dubbed her) is a shy, sweet, low key lady who really needs someone to snuggle and love up on her. She needs a solid routine and predictable schedule to ensure success, go at her pace, read her needs and meet her where she's at. Now she kennels with confidence (and a routine), meets us at the door to be leashed for outside potty time, and is SO goofy! She is such a snuggly girl, and all she wants is to be YOUR snuggly girl if you let her! She has made amazing progress and is playing, sniffing, and exploring our yard (while still leashed); squirrels and bunnies are fun to sniff out and she loves digging in the snow. New people still make her nervous, but with some added support she is investigating and more open. She will still need time to warm up to someone at her own pace, and once she does you will find the goofiest, cuddliest, sweetest shadow a person could ask for. She loves to sniff things, snuggle with stuffed animals, do puzzle toys, and is really smart at figuring out where the food comes from! She even knows now to search for birch odor in tins! It's one of her favorite games. Puzzle games and food dispensers for meal times has helped her confidence grow a lot too! With some patience and love, she will grow into a great partner and companion to someone!

From Khione: "Hi everyone. My name is Khione. I'm not really sure how the world works, but I'm starting to figure it out. I want someone to love, but new people make me nervous, so please have patience with me. I'm trying my best, and Foster Mom says I'm SO BRAVE when I approach a new person to sniff them! I love to sleep on my special chair where I can see out the window and watch the world go by. AND it's big enough for me to hang my head off of when I sleep, or snuggle with my stuffies! I am learning that people coming close bring really yummy things like treats and fun games-even if they take a game away I get something yummy in return! Outside used to be scary but now I know it has furry things to chase and sniff so I'm getting better at hanging out in my yard. I LOVE the snow, it's SO FUN to jump around with my giraffe toy and play! Are you the nice quiet home for me? I hope so! I really want a person to bond with and call my own soon. I can't wait to meet you!
