Large Dog Friendly: Yes - Especially if they like to wrestle and tug, and don't mind his outdoor voice.

Small Dog Friendly: Yes, but his play may be too enthusiastic for some.

Cat Friendly: No. Strong prey drive.

Crate Trained: Yes. Crated over night. Eats meals in the crate. He'll go in readily when asked, protest for a few seconds when you leave, then settle right down and stay quiet all night. In the morning, he will announce that he's ready to ZOOM. He cannot have a pad in the crate. He loves to chew and shred.

Housebroken: 100%. Even on Day 1 in rescue.

Energy Level: Very high. His brain and body need plenty of activity, but after exercise, he is able to chill. He loves to be with his companions - human and canine. He has been learning to hang out quietly in the office while foster mom works.

Reaction to New People: Eagerly friendly. Working on not jumping.

Kid Friendly: Yes, older, dog-savvy children. Lou loves everyone, but loves with great exuberance.

Training: Has a solid Sit, learning Down. Leash walking is steadily improving. Working on Leave It and On By. Knows what "Lou, Come" means, but not yet reliable. Working on correcting jumping up and playful nipping. Responds to "Stop" when his play is too intense.

Grooming Needs: Normal husky coat which will require regular thorough brushing. You should aim for once a week or so, and more when he is blowing his coat, typically twice a year.

Fence: Tall and sturdy. Lou is a curious boy; wants to go exploring. Has an impressive vertical jump.

Solo or Siblings: Either. He's a great snuggler during alone times with a human. Would do well with an active human who can engage his mind and body in regular, vigorous exercise. Would do even better with another dog who is a match for his energy and his rough and tumble play style.

From the Foster: Lou is a happy, curious, athletic canine teenager. He's charming, endearing, entertaining, and playfully-mischievous. He wants to explore and experience everything. At this stage of life, he needs supervision - but as he loves to be wherever you are, it's not hard to have eyes on him. His favorite things are snuggles, belly rubs, digging and rolling in dirt, squeaky toys, chasing anything you throw, and RUNNING. He has a beautiful gait when he runs. He would excel at most any dryland dog sport. He's comfortable with dirt, mud, rain, thunder, fireworks, sirens. He would be great with an outdoor-active family.
