Comments: Hi I'm "little red, 10 months old and looking for a furever home. I've kind of had a tough start to life but a nice person saved me and was able to get me into rescue, but my foster dad says the twinkle in my eyes will some day shine and the best of my life is in front of me. There is a family just waiting for someone as special as me. So onward we go!
I love other dogs and people and can get quite lonely and cry if I don't have a friend, so I will need a home with another dog to bond up to. I also like to play rough and tumble like most huskies do, so I really would love to have a brother or sister dog that will tell me off when I'm acting like a screwball. I usually hit the dirt when another pup tells me "Enough!
I'm great in crate and will crate on demand especially if you have a Kong, treat, or anything fun to chew. I'm good in the car crated or not, I just fall asleep. I'm a great eater- sometimes I eat too fast, but my foster dad showed me a game where I can get my food out of a treat ball and that keeps me entertained for quite a while! And I love belly rubs and just being with people.
I had virtually no training when I arrived in rescue, but I am very treat motivated, want to learn and have humans love me too, so I have since learned down, wait, come and OK (release word)- next is drop and leave it- I'm a quick study!
Recently I was fitted for a harness- now that makes those long exercise walks better! I love daily long walks or a well fenced yard to run free- I'm a high jumper even from a stand still though- yikes! So someone needs to watch me, but so far I haven't tested the fence as long as I have another dog to follow around.
Huskies have strong prey instincts- you didn't think I was an exception to that rule- so squirrels, rabbits butterfly's frogs, birds, (likely cats) and even deer drive me crazy, so hang on to my leash tight! Kids, now what are they? With no exposure to date (remember I'm a blank slate) it will take some time and patience to learn about them -I'm also still young and a little mouthy like any puppy.
My dream adopting family would be one with oodles of free time to help me learn to be the bestest dog ever, and a brother or sister dog to give me someone to play with (remember I am young and full of vim and vigor) and also show me some of the doggy ropes. During those times together I have a passion to please, and learning everything humans want me to do will be easy with a few hot dogs but I need to be shown. I sure hope someone can take my blank slate, fill it with all your dream dog qualities, and pencil my name in at the top. Can't wait for the day to meet my very special furever family
