Reaction to New People: Nyssa is still learning to trust people and is starting to learn that her foster parents aren't so scary. Once progress is made with her foster family she will get to meet some more new people soon!

Kid Friendly: Nyssa is very timid at this time and would do best in a home with older children.

Training: Nyssa walks perfectly on a leash once you get going!

Grooming Needs: Nyssa has a standard husky coat which will require frequent thorough brushing. You should aim for at least once a week, and more when she is blowing her coat, typically twice a year.

Fence: Nyssa is a flight risk due to her past, therefore a fence will be required for her.

Solo or Siblings: She would do best in a home with other dogs where she can continue to learn what it is like to be a house dog and trust people. It will be a requirement that she goes to a forever home with another dog.

From the Foster: Nyssa is a super sweet girl who came to us from a Missouri breeder release and had no idea what it was like to be a house dog. Her name means new beginnings and that's exactly what she's getting! Every day she is learning and trying something new. She loves getting to play with her foster siblings and has realized toys that squeak are the best! Right now certain things and people are still pretty scary but she is slowly starting to understand she is safe now. She loves a good ear rub and belly scratches from her foster parents when they lay with her. Nyssa is very scared of leashes right now, but once it's on she is a rockstar and realized walks with her foster siblings are amazing! As Nyssa comes out of her shell we will do some more testing with her and continue to update this page.
