Comments: Willow is a young, very happy dog, and is searching for her forever home willing to help her with her fear of people.

Upon coming into our care, Willow was so afraid of people that her foster family was unable to come within about 10 feet of her. They have spent countless hours showing her that humans are kind, and that she should trust them. We continue to socialize her and teach her new things, however we have to take our time as she is still very skittish.

We are unsure about her history, however it is clear to us that she was not socialized with people correctly. She loves to spend time with dogs, of all ages. She plays well with her foster siblings, and was even in the same home as a litter of six week old puppies.

Willow is available for adoption to the right family, as she will need a transition period, and is currently on some anxiety medications. She will need to live in a home with other dogs, as she does not do well without four-legged friends around. She learns what to do based on the other dogs.

Her training is limited, as she is so fearful of humans that teaching her the typical 'sit,' 'down,' 'stay,' commands have not been successful. We are working with a specialized dog trainer to help her come around to liking people and after successfully completing this will graduate to more training. House Training was a challenge with Willow, and on occasion she does have an accident. She is create trained, but her anxiety is very high while crated, and will need to be in a room where other dogs are also created; she has panicked and broken out of her kennel when left home alone.

During her time with us she has been exposed to children of all ages, and is alright around them. However, with her fear of people, she does not approach children and tends to run away from them.

If you feel that you would be a good fit for Willow please feel free to ask more about her, and we would be happy to answer them.

Willow's forever home MUST have a fenced in yard and other dogs, these are requirements that are non negotiable per Willow 🙂
