About Mika

Sex: Female

Color: Black/White

Eye Color: Blue

Birthday: 05/13/25

Weight: 36lbs

Large Dog Friendly: Yes

Small Dog Friendly: Yes

Cat Friendly: Unsure

Crate Trained: Yes! She’s crated overnight and while we are not home. She also eats her meals in her crate to keep her from nose diving into her foster sisters bowl 🙂

Housebroken: Getting there. She doesn’t have a good signal to go out yet. So we keep an eye on her and let her out frequently. We use baby gates and keep doors closed to limit her access to the house.

Energy Level: High

Reaction to New People: Friendly and excited.

Kid Friendly: Yes, has been around a 4 and 7 year old

Training: Sit so far

Grooming Needs: Weekly brushing to help keep her used to it. It’s hard to get her to hold still though. She has had a couple at home baths and has been to the groomers and did good.

Fence: Not required. Use a tie-out currently.

Solo or Siblings: She would love to have siblings – gets along well with others.

From the Foster: Mika is your typical active husky puppy. Free spirited, sweet and a little spicy. Breed experience would be ideal in her forever home. She came from a puppy mill in MN, she has flourished wonderfully. She’s learning every day how to be a house pup. She does have some undesirable behaviors, counter surfing and jumping on people. So will need to continue work on these things.

Mika would love to have another high energy sibling. She would probably be too much for an older low energy dog. We’ve been to a small dog park a few times now and she does really good with the other dogs and people. She’s getting better at leash walking and not zig zagging so much but does pull. If you’re looking for an adventure partner she’s your girl!
