Training: Riker knows sit and down. Riker is working on learning off and walks nicely on leash (when by himself).

Fence: Preferred, but does well on a tie out. If he gets bored, he will try and open chain link gates.

Solo or Siblings: Either, he loves being playful with other dogs, but does well on his own also.

From the Foster: Meet Riker, a truly delightful husky pup! He loves to play, run, chew, and collapse for a quick nap before starting it all over again!

He currently lives with two other dogs in his foster home and loves playing with them. He can play pretty rough, but does well paying attention to the cues of other dogs and walks away if they are done. He has shown prey drive, so would likely not do well with cats or other small animals.

He loves going outside to run in the backyard and has not shown any interest in jumping or climbing the fence. If he gets bored while outside, he will try to open the gate and since he successfully escaped from his first home it is likely that he will need a tie out, or a privacy fence.

Riker walks great on a leash when he isn't with his resident siblings and meets adults and kids very politely. He typically goes on 3 walks/runs per day and could be a great candidate for dog sports. Riker does have a tendency to jump up when he gets excited or meets new people. He also gets mouthy when he gets excited.

Riker loves to chew on rubber toys or tennis balls. He can chew through Kongs, so should have some supervised toy time 🙂 He will occasionally go after socks and tissues as well. He facies himself a chef and aspires to be in the kitchen at all times. He tries very hard to taste test anything left on the counter or the table and can get defensive if another dog is too close to his food.

One thing he really hates is being left behind. He does not like hanging out in his kennel. He will typically cry the whole time he is in there, try to move it around, and he has successfully broken out on one occasion.

At the end of playing, he will curl up on the couch with you to rest. He is quite cuddly! And when you decide to turn in for the night, he sleeps all night long either on the floor next to you or cuddling in bed with you, if you let him. This great little boy is so very excited to find his furever family and start his lifetime of adventures with you!
